The September Team is in Honduras!

Sunday, September 22nd, 2024

Happy Sunday from Honduras! Our team arrived safely from the US yesterday afternoon and made our way to Barnabas House after breezing through immigration and customs. The afternoon was spent getting settled into our home for the week, meeting our gracious hosts, and marveling at the beauty of Honduras!

After being fueled by a delicious breakfast at Alfredo House this morning, we took a short drive to a local waterfall! A few of us braved the heights of the zipline, flying across the river and over the waterfall 5 or 6 times.  Some on our team conquered fears and we all enjoyed the cooling mist of the waterfall after our zipline adventure. On our way back, we stopped at a market and grabbed some local snacks and treats to enjoy during our time here this week.

This afternoon was filled with preparations for our first clinic day tomorrow! We counted medication, made bags to give out to the community, and our medical team got some extra training with our Honduran hosts on how to use the EMRs that we’ll be working with this week. We had a team dinner tonight, followed by a team commissioning and devotional time together.

Tomorrow, we head out to our first community—we would love continued prayers for safety, the unity and health of our team, and easy travels to and from the communities we will be serving. Thanks for following along!!
