Each night, along with a devotional time, our team goes around the table to share a “rose and thorn” from the day. Roses are the highlight, or the best part of your day, and thorns are the hardest or a particularly challenging part of the day. Tonight, collectively, there weren’t many thorns shared! Many on our team shared sweet patient interactions, meaningful connections with children, and lots of time holding cute babies. We have settled into a good routine of set-up and each day seems to run just a little bit smoother than the last (with the exception of the very bumpy bus ride we had on our drive to and from the community today).

Two more team members gave out their crosses today! Lynn shared hers with a young girl she connected with while we were cleaning up and loading our bus up. With the help of one of our translators, they shared a love of penguins, stickers, and laughing together. The second cross was from Susan, our resident baby whisperer today. After some extended time holding and singing to him, she felt the nudge to pray over him and his family. She shared with us tonight what a joy it was to hold him, pray over his future, the safety of his family, and ask for the Lord’s protection over his life. After his mom was finished at the station she was at, Susan gave the cross to her and shared how she had prayed over them.

We would love prayers for continued energy, health, and good rest for our team as we are halfway through our week, working long days in hot, humid weather. As Dr. Dave said tonight, “it seems we are here for the Honduras ‘Festival of Humidity’ this week”, and that is fairly accurate.  Our clinics are usually in a small room with not much air flow, along with our outdoor teammates working in the hot sun. In the midst of these days, the Lord continues to meet us and carry us. We’ll leave you with the same quote Linda ended our devotional time with: “God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good.”

Thanks for following along!
