As I embarked on my 1st mission trip to Honduras, I wondered about the true impact that our Mountain Medical Team would make. It started to come to light as we traveled the curvy, ungraded roads that led us to some of the most precious souls with gazing eyes, warm smiles, and curiosity that filled their minds. With parents and grandparents invested in the wellness of their family, so grateful for our team that brings knowledge, expertise, joy, and compassion to their community.

How can two nationalities be present and give in such different ways?

We educate, treat, empower, and set up ongoing care. God works in mysterious ways. We came as a team to serve and in the end, we were the true souls that were served.

On day two, we are grateful that Mrs. Maria and Mr. Santos opened their home, grateful for our dedicated interpreters, improved workflow and changes in charting, learning and feeling comfortable in new roles, the ingenuity to be able to provide care, grateful for the love and smiles of the community members, the delicious lunch, and the beauty of nature that surrounded us. We are also grateful to work alongside our loved ones and build professional relationships with Honduran doctors, the ability to adapt to the simplicity of the setting, and grateful that despite living in poverty, that community still shows gratitude and wishes us safe travels,

Here I am, Lord. It was a beautiful way to end our evening.
